Now back to buisness:- Wasn't the speech by old John McCain the most toe curling, the most mind dulling experience of all time. I tried my best to concentrate but when he said he hated war I couldn't take any more. This is the same guy who said he would bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb Iran. McCain for President ? Oh come on!!

Bengals prepare to see Anderson
The Bengals go to Baltimore every season, but there will be a new site at M&T Bank Stadium, a sight nobody has really ever expected -- Willie Anderson in a different uniform.
"It's definitely going to be weird," said Bengals offensive tackle Levi Jones. "Big Willie in purple and black?"
Said defensive tackle Domata Peko, "He's a huge guy and you can't miss him out there. When you think of the Bengals, you think of Willie and Carson, and for him to be in a different uniform…"
Anderson is scheduled to officially sign with the Ravens today after being cut by the Bengals on Saturday.
"That's the nature of the business," Jones said. "This is a business and this team got reminded of that."
Anderson played in 181 games for the Bengals, the sixth-most in franchise history, and Jones said he expects him to play in many games for the Ravens.
"He doesn't look to be slowing down any, contrary to popular belief, he's still full steam ahead," Jones said.
If Anderson doesn't play in Sunday's season-opener, the Ravens return to Cincinnati on Nov. 30.
"The good thing about it is we practiced against him every day and we were just talking in our defensive line room about it, (assistant offensive line coach) Bob (Surace) knows a lot of his tendencies and stuff he can get beat by, the other part of it is (Anderson) knows a lot of our stuff, too," Peko said. "It's going to be exciting to go against him and a good test for us."
Random Thoughts 9/5
He won't win the ROY award, but Joey Votto has had a very good year. He is solid definsively, packs some power and hits in the clutch. To me, he is an untouchable. I put him in the same category as Cueto, Volquez and Bruce. DO NOT TRADE HIM!
On Wednesday, Hal McCoy wrote that Dusty Baker was mightily disturbed after the game over a missed sign and wild pick-off throw. Baker said, "Mistakes man. We just have to quit making mistakes." What do you think Lou Piniella would have said? What reaction would Pete Rose have had?
Homer Bailey was lights-out for Louisville, striking out eight and walking one over six shutout innings. He needs to be in Cincinnati next year.
Would Anderson give intel to the enemy? I would.
Did you know? I do now thanks to Cincy Jungle. This Sunday would have been Paul Brown's 100th birthday.
My thoughts for Sunday: The Bengals have won six of the last seven games against Baltimore. The Ravens have a first-year head coach and first-year quarterback. The Bengals will finally have Carson, T.J. and Chad on the field together. Hopefully, Chris Perry will be playing with the same fire he did in the preseason game against Detroit. My prediction is Bengals 24, Ravens 13.
Ohio State goes for win number 800 on Saturday. A victory would put the all-time record at 800-304-53. The Buckeyes last played Ohio University in 1999, winning 40-16.
Frank Solich says, "It's not like their going to abandon the running game." That is because of Maurice Wells, Brandon Saine and Dan Herron. All three should be more than enough to handle Ohio University.
Former Red Johnny Edwards, among others, will be inducted into the Ohio State Hall of Fame on Saturday.
Oh yeah, Buckeyes roll 47-0.
9/5 It's finally Friday in the Jungle...
How good is it to have the NFL and College Football back? We have a big Friday for you to get ready for the Football weekend. Dallas Cowboys OLB Demarcus Ware and Philadelphia Eagles Tackle Jon Runyan will be in the jungle and just to give you balance as we come down the home stretch of the baseball season we will have Mets first basemen Carlos Delgado on.

Well here we go again! Whats gonna happen this year ? I would like to give you my 2 cents worth. Carson Palmer will again be the media darling and have a decent year( statistically speaking). 3,750 psg yrds 29 tds 15 ints 12-18 overthrows not mentioned. Chris Perry 100 rushing attempts 4.7 ypc 3 td.( he'll end up on injury list 13 of 16 weeks). Kenny Watson will come in and perform like he should've been the starter.(hint..hint). TJ will catch 85-90 balls and barely break a thousand yrd rcvg. The offensive line will go thru many different rotations and will enable fans to question the decision making process of this coaching staff. The defensive line will make the previous selections of Dan Wilkinson, Alfred Williams, Justin Smith, and lets not forget the project that was Reinard Wilson look like brilliant football moves. Ben Utecht will have a good year ,51 receptions 712 yrds 8 td's. Believe it or not Chris Henry will return after his 4 game suspension and actually deliver big numbers. And Finally Ocho Cinco will have another huge year 92 receptions 1,455 yds and11 tds. But he will be called a cancer on this team despite leading the League in first downs gained yet again. 74 out of 85 catches last year moved the chains.WOW!! Season Record 6-10..Ouch
I don't want that to be the case, but this team is not better than last year! How can we improve against a tougher schedule. With this being said I wanna tell evryone I drafted Carson on my fantasy team,I have placed my W-L record bet with my dad at 11-5 and atleast one playoff win. I have Chris Perry in my Brett favre Iron man predictions. And Antwan Odom as a sure fire holder of the single season sack record. Why???
I AM A CINCINNATI SPORTS FAN!!!! DUH Go Bengals!

EU and you
earlier today, I blogged on the way that the EU is trying to resurrect the legally defunct Lisbon Treaty.http://my.telegraph.co.uk/hammer/blog/2008/09/05/lisbon_treaty_rearing_up_again
Doubting Thomas mentioned their latest chicanery on 'in absentia' sentencing. May I give you a possible scenario.
A is someone who stirs loudly and effectively against the EU, its budget spending and general non-representation. He goes away on an innocent holiday.
B, carrying a forged passport, purporting to be A, enters, say, Roumania and carries out an atrocity and leaves before he is caught.
Roumania investigates, finds the identity of the villain, sentences him in absentia. A is then extradited, and there would be no political efforts to stop this miscarriage and A can be effectively re-educated whilst in prison.
The Brussels battalion of bureaucrats can then get on with their nepotism, fiddling and empire building with one less effective voice digging them out.
Not possible? How many British passports went adrift recently? How many whistle blowers have been framed and muffled in the corridors of power?
If the EU is so good, why should not every country have a referendum to tell them so? A refusal can only mean that they know that they would lose, because it is not in the people's interest, just the politicians.
If enough people get up and instruct their representative MPs and MEPs to force a vote, then we can see. If it goes as a YES, all I can do is shut up for a year or so, before you start to hear a muttered, "I told you so," by which time we will have German or Russian tanks in Piccadilly.
Remember, Putin is Teacozy's friend.
First Week Wed. League
Hey everyone.. Finally a new season. Well tonite I got my feet wet again. I really didn't want to start off big, but it look that way in the first game. Here are my games
Game 1: 224
Game 2: 170
Game 3: 188
Total Series: 582 Avg. 194
My goal this year again is to have a 200+ average for a full season. My other is to get a 800 series. My teammate already got a 805 to start the season. He was just on. Never missed the pocket. Had a 289 first game. Left a stone 8 pin on the 11th ball. TTyNW(talktoyounextweek).
Which quango shall we scrap first?
If you could abolish just one quango, which would it be? Heaven knows there are enough to choose from. According to a recent study by the Taxpayers' Alliance, there are now 1162 executive agencies in Britain, costing £64 billion a year.
It’s a toughie, but, on grounds that you should start with those that have the greatest capacity to do harm, here are my top five:
1. The National Institute for Clinical Excellence
2. The Health and Safety Executive
3. The Equaltity and Human Rights Commission
4. The Standards Board
5. The European Commission
Alright, we don’t often think of this last as a quango, but what the devil else is it? Twenty-seven unelected Commissioners with a monopoly on the right to propose new legislation: if that's not a super-quango, what is?
I’m sure you have candidates of your own. The excellent Donal Blaney, for example, makes a strong case for scrapping the Advertising Standards Authority. Douglas Carswell is obsessed with getting rid of the Better Regulations Commission which, he argues, typifies what is wrong with our whole approach: instead of tackling the problem of too many laws and too many quangoes through repeal and abolition, Labour chose to do so by passing another law and creating a new quango. And as for the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority…
I’d welcome any ideas you have. The comment thread is open.
Congrats to Eric and Porschea for being the 4th finalist =)
This is very exciting, even if its not us being the next finalist and its a friend we made on KIIS it's all worth going on this journey.
